4 Job Roles You Didn’t Know Operated Through the Cloud

Though Cloud Computing was just a buzzword? You should know by now that things in business don’t stay buzzwords for long.

Cloud computing is the term we use to refer to anything that happens offsite. When we send an email, it is delivered through the Cloud. When we use social media, we post pics and statuses to the Cloud. When we do business through online stores, we are even doing business with the cloud.

With this in mind, we thought it was high time we drew your attention to some jobs that let you work through the cloud, as well.

Working Through the Cloud

There are dozens of ways to work through the cloud, but not all of us have the capacity. If you are out of work and struggling to find IT roles near you, check for cloud computing jobs near you, instead.

Here are our five favourite jobs that nobody realises are cloud computing focused. Good luck and happy hunting.

1 – Cryptocurrency Trader

Ever thought of buying and selling crypto tokens? If you have, or if you consider yourself a trader, the process of creating, buying, and selling bitcoin and other tokens, all takes place in the cloud. While the non-technically savvy still seem to think there are physical currency tokens out there in the world, the rest of us can have a bit of a giggle and keep working online.

2 – Remote Office Work

Has your office recently gone working from home positive since Covid 19 kicked in? The pandemic forced many an office to revert to remote work. If you were one of the WFH converts, then you will be astounded to know that you work through the Cloud. You create your work, you send it to the other contributors or those who need it, and you do this by email or messaging service kept within the cloud.

3 – YouTube Streamer

This applies to all the major streaming and video apps. That means YouTube, TikTok, Stitch, even Instagram. A streamer sends their data out into the world so that those in remote locations can watch it. In essence, the data is stored on the cloud for the viewer to access at a time which is convenient to them. If you are a streamer, an online content creator, or a gamer, you are sending data to the cloud.

4 – Data Engineers

We use the term data engineer, but we are including data scientists, DevOps specialists, and web developers in this one lump category. If your job is to alter the internet in any way – say by adding pages and designing websites – then you are actively working on the Cloud. Of course, this category also includes Cloud Computing Engineers, so it’s a bit of a cheat. The key takeaway here is that we ought to be re-evaluating what we think of as Cloud technology.

Reassessing How We Use the Cloud

What’s the morale of this story? It’s that Cloud computing isn’t something far off and unobtainable. In fact, it’s something many of us use everyday already.
